Global logistics is a people business long before it’s a freight business — built on trust, responsiveness and proof rather than scale for its own sake. OW Logistics is a boutique global 3PL headquartered in the United States, supporting retailers and brands as they move goods from Asia into the US and navigate the complexity of modern supply chains across freight, vendor management and import operations. Ubuntu has partnered with OW Logistics since 2018 as its embedded marketing and creative partner, working directly with the CEO and Head of US Operations.
The challenge
Global logistics is competitive, operationally complex and overwhelmingly relationship-driven — the things that win are trust, responsiveness and human credibility, not visibility. OW Logistics didn’t need volume; it needed a marketing and communications platform capable of conveying operational credibility, differentiating a people-first boutique from far larger enterprise providers, and supporting commercial growth at the cadence of the industry itself.
What we did
We don’t deliver projects to OW Logistics — we operate their marketing function. That spans the strategic direction and the day-to-day: brand, website, sales materials, RFP responses, event collateral and the customer-facing assets behind real commercial growth. The through-line is trust — helping a small, responsive team present polished, procurement-ready work that reflects the care and reliability their clients actually experience, without the cost and overhead of building an in-house department to match.
“Ubuntu is our marketing department. They show up at the speed of the business, and the work walks into procurement meetings looking better than the enterprise competition.”
The outcome
Eight years of continuous embedded partnership, a marketing function owned end to end by Ubuntu, and zero in-house marketing headcount required to run it — a lean, human-scale operation that competes and wins above its weight.
